from a pinch of flour to a neighbourhood favourite

Penny & Thyme Bakehouse began with a shared dream between lifelong friends, Eleanor 'Penny' Vance and Thomas 'Thyme' Blackwood, both passionate about the art of baking and the joy of community. Our journey started in a small kitchen, experimenting with old family recipes and fresh, local ingredients, determined to bring a taste of authentic, handcrafted goodness to London.
The name 'Penny & Thyme' is a tribute to these humble beginnings. 'Penny' represents the simple, honest value of good food and the warmth of a welcoming space, while 'Thyme' embodies the natural, fresh ingredients and the time-honored traditions we uphold in every loaf, pastry, and cake. Our philosophy is simple: commitment to craft, community, and quality ingredients. We believe that every bite should tell a story of dedication, from the first measurement to the final, delicious taste.
We are more than just a bakehouse; we are a gathering place where friendships are formed over steaming cups of artisan coffee and memories are made with slices of our famous carrot cake. We source our flour from traditional mills, our fruit from local markets, and our passion from the heart of our vibrant community here in Holborn. Come, be a part of our story.
